EXEC_RE=NATION/.

The Japanese in this song is so archaic that when I went looking for more information, I found a complete translation of the lyrics into modern Japanese. Apparently it's at least as troublesome for a native speaker as reading Shakespeare is to a native English speaker.

Comprehension issues aside, though, it's a beautiful song with powerful lyrics that perfectly matches its dramatic effect in the game. Normally I would attempt to render the archaic Japanese as archaic English, but in this case it would detract from the clarity too much.

Functionally, this song reverses the effects of EXEC_SUSPEND/. by bringing the tower back online to normal functionality. The mood of the song contrasts appropriately with Suspend's mood, much as the effect does.

Additionally, if you needed any more evidence that the Reyvateil affects the rendition of the song, note the extensive use of music box here. Aurica loves music boxes....

Japanese Romanization Translation
願はくば この謳を呼び聞かせ給へ
緩く吹く暁の風となりて
Negawakuba kono uta wo yobikikase tamae
Yuruku fuku akatsuki no kaze to narite
I wish for this song to be heard,
As a lazily blowing wind of dawn.
微睡む命 凍れる夢に
漂ひて迷へる人 解き放ち給へ
Madoromu inochi kooreru yume ni
Tadayoite mayoeru hito tokihanachi tamae
Set free the dozing lives, the lost ones
Who drift aimlessly in frozen dreams!
dramatic pause
天伝ひ来る鳥は 日方に直向かふ
白に鮮やぐ翼
さきに希望の明日 伝へて
Ama tsutai kuru tori wa hikata ni tadamukau
Shiro ni azayaku tsubasa
Saki ni kibou no asu tsutaete
Birds passing through the heavens fly straight for the sun.
O brilliant white wings,
Bring hope for tomorrow to the future!
命の再生を謳いましょう Was yea ra waath near en hymme Re-nation mea. I shall sing a song of life reborn.
輝ふ日 目陰さし響かせる謳は
緩く吹く黎明の風となりぬる
Kagayou hi me kagesashi hibikaseru uta wa
Yuruku fuku reimei no kaze to nari nuru
The song let resound to shade against the gleaming sun
Becomes a lazily blowing wind of daybreak.
生まるる命 寝覚めの夢に
漂ひて迷へる人 守らひ給へ
Umaruru inochi nezame no yume ni
Tadayoite mayoeru hito mamorai tamae
Protect the lives that will be born, the lost ones
Who drift aimlessly in dreams of awakening!
留まらず行く鳥は 日方に直向かふ
溢るる光の中
羽根に想いの灯を纏ひて
Todomarazu yuku tori wa hikata ni tadamukau
Afururu hikari no naka
Hane ni omoi no honoo matoite
The birds fly without pause straight for the sun.
In the overflowing light,
Their wings are enveloped in illuminating feelings.
Close with two repetitions of "Was yea ra waath near en hymme Re=Nation" and a fadeout.

The Hymmnos

Keep in mind that I'm working from a Japanese description of how the language works and Japanese descriptions of the terms. Translations of translations always tend to suffer somewhat in quality...

Refer to my brief Hymmnos reference for general information on how the language works.

If you have the Hymmnos font installed, the headings below should appear in the script used in the game. Hey, why not? The font is available from the Hymmno Server, where most of my information on Hymmnos comes from. The site is mostly in Japanese, but the download link itself is in English. If you don't have the font, the headings will simply appear as large Latin text.

There's only one Hymmnos line in the song, and here it is:

Was yea ra waath near en hymme Re-nation mea.

Hymmnos line: Was yea ra waath near en hymme Re-nation mea.

Glossed as: 命の再生を謳いましょう

Which means: I shall sing a song of life reborn.

Kana reading: ワスイェア ラ ワース ニェァー エン ヒュム リネイション ミーァ

Romanized: wasu yea ra waasu nyeaa hyumu rineishon mii[a]

Vocaulary summary: Was = very intensely / yea = happy / ra = want to be like this
waath = rebirth / near = life / en = and (then), because of / hymme = sing, play, resonate / Re=Nation = the song / mea = me

The emotional context as expressed in the emotive sound is intense happiness and wanting to stay as is. Then there's singing Re=Nation and the rebirth of life. Fairly simple overall. The difference between "Re-nation" and "Re=Nation" can be dismissed as cosmetic.

Literal translation attempt: I am intensely happy to sing the hymn Re=Nation to restore life.

No overlapping lines, so I deemed the "lyrics only" section unnecessary.
