The area resembles the disused basement under Alunze, and has the same music. There are three main branches to follow. Two are interconnected in a way that forces you keep going back and forth between them to open more of the other one, and lead to several treasures, including a (cursed) Killer Sword and the powerful, but elemental, Thunder Axe. The other path has the majority of the real puzzles. One room has a staircase that moves away when approached, but there's a sign on the wall to help. |
There is a habit in how the stairs flee. Best to corner them where they can run not! |
The key is figuring out how the stairs respond to approaches from each side, and herding them into the tile at the bottom that has only one way out. There's a sliding platform puzzle later on; each of the platforms in a 3x3 grid can move around, but only if they have an arrow pointing that direction (step on the arrow to move it), and only if there's nothing in the way. You enter at the bottom left, and there are doors in each of the other corners. First of all, take the platform across to the bottom right, and cross some pits with the hook to find.... |

The capsule monster "Shaggy" became an ally. |
![]() |
Shaggy's default name is ぴかぴか (Pikapika), which means sparkle, glitter, or shiny. Shaggy is a light-elemental capsule monster with low physical stats and high everything else, including GUT, which means it won't chicken out easily. It may be awful at causing damage, but it's also the only capsule monster that can heal party members. The healing starts out weak, but improves as the monster evolves. At higher classes, it also learns some attack magic, which works rather better than its physical attacks. Back to the dungeon... it's not difficult to reach the door in the top right of the sliding platforms room from here, and pushing four pillars onto the different section of floor is good for a fourth Dragon Egg. If you've visited the other doors in the order given here, getting to the top left door should be simple enough. On the other side is another puzzle: A 3x3 grid of tiles, with some light and some dark. There's a sign on the wall. |
Brighten every panel with the Bomb. |
The problem with using the Bomb is that each affects not only the tile where you place it, but also the ones next to it. I don't have an exact solution handy, but if you don't give up, you should get it eventually. Down another flight of stairs is an amazingly simple puzzle: Push the pillar onto the button to open the door. Prince Alec and Josef are in the next room, ringed by a section of floor that looks a bit odd. As soon as the party approaches them, the odd-looking floor falls away, leaving them trapped in the middle of the room. "Shudder" starts playing, and Idura appears. |
Idura: Huhahahah! Welcome to the scene of your death. |
Maxim: What was that? |
Idura: The Tezar magic has been blocked. Escape from here is no longer possible. ...now then, let's begin. |
I'm not sure what, if anything テザー (Tezar) is supposed to mean, but it's the spell to warp out of dungeons. They call it "Escape" in the English version. Idura summons some mummies to attack the party. They're not all that tough. |
Idura: Oh? Seems you can fight a bit. How about these, then! |
Idura summons some trolls. They're tougher, but not something Maxim and the others can't deal with. For best results, "kill it with fire!" |
Idura: Oho, you're letting me enjoy myself. But you've got no chance. Endless monsters will come forth as long as you don't beat me! |
Selena: What should we do, Maxim-san? There's no end to them like this! |
Yes, she's talking more informally again. As for what to do... why not just take out Idura? Duh? |
Maxim: D, dammit! |
Idura: Aaah, hah hahah! |
A deep voice interrupts. |
What're you laughing about like you're such a big deal? |
Idura: Huh? |
"The Strongest Man" plays as Heidecker walks into the room |
Idura: Y, YOU!? |
Translating "kisama" as "you" fails to convey the level of disdain and hatred it carries, but I can't think of anything else that would still keep the primary meaning. |
Heidecker: You really thought up an awful lot of wimpy traps. It couldn't be that you're incredibly weak, could it? |
Idura: Why you little, you've insulted me yet again!! I can't let you get away with it!! |
He summons a small pack of monsters to surround Heidecker. |
Heidecker: These guys again...? |
Heidecker slaughters the monsters with no apparent effort. |
Heidecker: Don't just keep using monsters, come yourself!! |
Idura: Hmph, it won't be any fun even if I kill you now. I'll prepare a more fitting place for you to die! |
Idura teleports away. Heidecker steps on a switch that connects a bridge to the platform where the others are. |
Heidecker: Hey, Maxim. You already got this far? I could've sworn I came in the labyrinth first, but you beat me. |
Maxim: You saved us. |
Heidecker: Hey, this much is easy, easy! Whoops, more importantly.... |
He walks over to the prince. |
Heidecker: Prince, are you unharmed? |
Prince: I'm okay. ...sorry, Heidecker. I've caused you trouble. |
Heidecker: What are you saying? Prince, did you not enter a dangerous labyrinth for the sake of the kingdom and its people? That is not something just anyone can do. |
Prince: ...but I couldn't do anything in the end. |
Heidecker: Prince. Your sword skills will rise if you train. More importantly, please do not forget the feelings that moved you to act on behalf of the people. |
Prince: ...will you teach me about the sword, Heidecker? |
Heidecker: With pleasure. |
Josef: Khuu! I, Josef, have never been so deeply moved as I am today!! |
Heidecker: Then let us return to the castle. |
Prince: Sure. |
Heidecker leads Prince Alec and Josef out of the room, then returns to talk to Maxim. |
Heidecker: Maxim. I'm going to go see the prince back to the castle. ...it sure hurt to let Idura get away, though. |
Maxim: I'm sure he'll be back again. |
Heidecker: Yeah. Well, when he does, I'll take him on as many times as he wants. Anyway, come see me once we're back at the castle... I have something to talk about. |
Maxim: ...understood. |
Heidecker leaves. |
Selena: That person might actually have a good head, maybe? |
Maxim: Yes, I'm sure he does. |
Heidecker comes back into the room. |
Heidecker: Maxim.... |
Maxim: Wh, what's wrong, did something happen? |
Heidecker: The door in the next room........ How do you open it again? |
Maxim: ........you push the pillar onto the switch. |
Heidecker: Right, right! That was it. I just opened it myself earlier, but it sorta slipped my mind. Whew, I'm in over my head here!! |
Heidecker leaves again. |
Selena: I guess he's an idiot after all.... |
Maxim: ...it does look like he's not quite all there, anyway. |
Selena: ...but he does seem to earnestly care about Prince Alec. |
Maxim: ...yes. If he didn't, I doubt the prince would admire him that much.... |
Selena: He's really something. |
Maxim: Selena-san, are you not admired by many of the soldiers of Parselyte yourself? You're really something. |
Selena: ...thanks. But that's as a sword fighter. For myself as—. |
My guess is she was about to say something like 一人の女として ("for myself as a woman") and go into how they don't appreciate her for herself. |
Selena: —no, it's nothing. Now, let us return to Boundary Kingdom. |
